This programme aims to make those hard to reach jobs more attractive and inclusive to talent that may currently be less likely to find them.
Many people may assume that the nuclear industry only employs people who have science or engineering degrees. However, there are a vast amount of career paths and opportunities to be explored within this sector. The image below shows a selection of some of the roles / career paths available in the nuclear sector.
Unfortunately, these opportunities are not always as accessible because of the lack of exposure around them. This can often leave young people in a position where they may avoid the nuclear sector because they believe that there is not a job in that field which will suit their talents.
Our mission is to connect Black talent with career opportunities in the nuclear sector. We want to support employers reaching an audience of Black talent by making their job vacancies more accessible.
We also acknowledge the importance of ensuring that the young people that may be recruited are safeguarded.
To address this, Grassroots Graduates will be providing employers who advertise jobs on our board with the appropriate training to help ensure that safeguards around Black employees are met. For Go Nuclear! this training will consist of Anti – Racism training and much more.
