Role Description:
Who are we looking for?  We have an excellent opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic graduates to join our two-year graduate scheme, this vacancy is for those interested in working in procurement as part of our exciting scheme, you will spend 80% of your time developing both your general work-related skills and professional qualifications, with 20% of your working time dedicated to graduate training and development. UKAEA has a nurturing community that learns from each other. We are looking to recruit for roles based in Culham, Oxfordshire and Rotherham, South Yorkshire.    What opportunities does the graduate scheme cover?  Roles and examples of the type of work/projects you would be involved in include: Roles and examples of the type of work/projects you would be involved in include:
  • Delivering procurement support across the organisation, providing advice, guidance and completion of projects and tenders for the growing R&D portfolio within UKAEA.
  • Providing support and guidance for the organisation, supporting the team in delivering a first-class procurement service.
  • Negotiating with the relevant parties such as external companies to arrive at appropriate commercial agreements.
  • Assisting customers in recognising and accurately specifying their contractual requirements and developing appropriate contractual strategies.
  • Providing support and guidance for the organisation, supporting the team in delivering a first-class procurement service.
  • Ensuring UKAEA is compliant with European Commission and UK directives for procurement in the public sector
  • Supporting the organisation in the achievement of its own milestones and impacting the achievement of BEIS targets and milestones.
Within the 20% training and development, there is a core suite of activities designed to develop your professional and business skills. Elements of this programme are flexible and can be tailored to your personal development needs and to those of your specific job role. Our scheme is accredited by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the Institute of Physics (IoP) as a professional development scheme.
