Role Description:

Are you an undergraduate student looking for a 12-month placement as part of your degree? Do you want to work for an organisation that is helping to shape the future of the world’s energy? Are you confident in the use of Microsoft Excel with some understanding of working in a business environment?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Database Administrator to join a collaborative team of 5, supporting with technical matters related to our business system, Unit 4 ERP. Due to the nature of the role, you will gain a breadth of exposure to a range of departments across the organisation as well as at all levels, including Directors, putting you in great stead for future employment post-studies.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing support for issues, including developing reports and proposing technical solutions to change requests.
  • Supporting and testing the use of additional functionality that is currently not in use, but is being considered for the near future
  • Create and publish training material to support the system.
  • Provide cover for the Business System Administration Assistant role, helping to support the Business but also providing you with a broader understanding of the system.
  • Support in writing clear and concise process documentation.
Essential Skills:
  • Studying for an undergraduate degree in subjects such as Business Studies/Accounting/Finance/HR/IT/Procurement.
  • Some understanding of using standard business processes such as Project systems, customer billing system, HR system, finance system, purchasing and order tracking etc.
  • An appreciation of data protection and data security.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator across all levels with strong influencing skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Desire to learn about business processes.
Education & Experience:
  • A good understanding of the use and versatility of large database systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and Word, with the ability to demonstrate the development of clear Word-based documentation with screenshots and Excel data manipulation using pivot tables.
